Fly the Friendly Skies - Nude.

There are so many jokes to be made here we don’t know where to start, so we’ll play it straight and say a German travel agency is taking reservations for nude air travel.

It seems nudism is very popular in Germany, where it’s called Freikörperkultur or Free Body Culture, and travel agency OssiUrlab says it will allow nudists booking a day trip to the Baltic island of Usedom to fly nude.

“I wish I could say we thought of it ourselves, but the concept came from a customer,” Enrico Hess, the company’s founder, told Reuters. “It’s an strange gap in the market.”

Tickets for the July 5 trip cost a whopping 499 Euros, and passengers must remain clothed in the airport. The crew will remain clothed “for safety

reasons,” Hess said. He put the kibosh on any suggestion the nude flight will manufacture it easier for passengers to join the Mile High Club.

“I don’t want society to get the wrong concept,” Hess said. “It’s not that we’re starting a swinger club in mid-air or something like that. We’re a perfectly normal holiday company.”

OssiUrlaub is a little late to the game, though. Naked Air and Castaways Travel offered at least one nude flight to Mexico in 2003. There’s lots of pictures of that trip on bare Air’s web site whether you’re interested.
