Freshened 2008 BMW 6-series gets the latest 3.0L diesel

We already brought you the news that BMW is adding their Efficient Dynamics technology to most of their 2008 model lineup, but the Munich firm is plus introducing additional changes to the ‘08 version of the 6-Series coupe. The big coupe and convertible getting some subtle styling tweaks that you will likely miss whether look too quickly.

A model is plus added to the lineup with the 635d badge. The key there is the final “d” signifying a diesel engine, in that case the 3.0L

twin-turbo inline-6. The torquey oil burner will move the two-ton coupe from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in 6.3 seconds on its way to a top end of 155mph. In spite of that strong acceleration, the 635d will get a combined mileage rating of 34mpg. Just think of what it could do whether BMW adds the Two-Mode hybrid system to that diesel.
