Mercedes SL Black Comes Out of the Dark

Spy shots of the forthcoming Mercedes SL Black supercar have been kicking around the Net since final September. But England’s “Car Magazine Online” finally got the story. The vehicle goes on sale that fall. It was developed with help from HWA of DTM/German Touring
Car Championship fame. Only 400 units will be available. And you’ll
need to pony up £193,000 (€260,000) to bag the final SL. We’ll let you do the dollar conversion.

The car’s supercharged V8 will produce 670bhp and a maximum torque

of 737lb ft. It will rocket from 0 to 60mph in 3.9 seconds and will have a top speed of 200mph. The fixed-roof Black Series model features 19/20-inch (front/rear) wheels and a new Sportshift
transmission which mates a new wet clutch a seven-speed transmission.
