A London Underground drivers’ union said that it will protest at the premiere of a new British comedy based off of suicides in the city’s subway network.
The film, Three and Out, stars Mackenzie criminal (from the British series, The Office) as a London Tube driver who has, within a few days, two society fall onto the tracks and crushed by his train. He later learns from his friends that whether one hits three humans in a month, the driver is paid off with 10 years of salary. ASLEF, the union representing train drivers, says that train suicides are not to be joked about. Crushing someone who has fallen onto the tracks is “life-changing traumas for drivers who have been involved,” as stated by the ASLEF general secretary, Keith Norman. ASLEF will be handing out pamphlets at the premiere in London.
final year, a reported 249 public died on London Underground tracks, of which 194 were famous as suicides.
